I have been downloaded for over two years for having to take, and it’s one in which I wish I was wrong.
I believe Tony Dungy has been a very fair comparable for a long time. He turned that franchise that was a doormat into a perennial contender. I could never get over the hump.
This team has at best plateaued under McDermott. I honestly believe a big issue beyond his embarrassing game management is the fact the team has never really forgiven him for 13 seconds and his refusal to take any accountability for it.
When you build a team identity around tough, knows, accountability and the leader refuses to be accountable. That is how you end up losing a locker room eventually.
