I was pretty excited when we signed him in the offseason and for what seemed like such a cheap deal. I honestly am surprised that you guys didn’t resign him. He’s really been playing poorly so far and I’m just curious if he’s always been streaky? He doesn’t trust his 3pt shot at all and just looks like he has no confidence. What are your thoughts?
His 3pt shot is the strangest thing ever, his first two years in the league I wanna say he had the league’s prettiest deep ball(pre-Maxey) dude had an amazing follow through and touch on the ball. Then all of a sudden, he changed his mechanics, more of a set shot and it hasn’t been the same since.
Then as a PG, the dude can bewilder and amaze in the sentence. The dude ALWAYS has his eyes to the ground, doesn’t really read the defense or where he’s going at times.
But then in the same breath when he looks up, he’ll make on time passes and like in the game last year, he’ll put up 17 AST like what?
I also think the Doc offense, as much as we blast it, was simplified for a guy like Shake. ISO/pass, feed it to Joel.
Not so much playing next to an explosive guy like Edwards.
Please do you mind elaborating on the Edwards point for me?
Shake’s not really a catch and shoot guy, so it’s harder to play off another ball dominant guard when you don’t have that skill(see: Harden/westy)
By contrast,it’s easier to play with a big because you can just dump it in there.(As well as the screen game.)
