I’m having troubles getting my new LE OLED deck to detect external storage in any medium without supplying additional power via a dock and PD charger attached.

I’ve tried:

MicroSD card reader - via OTG adapter

USB flash drive - via OTG adapter

USB-C flash drive - direct connect

USB-C External nvme drive - direct connect

My older LCD deck can detect my external storage without using any additional hardware with the exception of the external nvme drive.

All connections were attempted within desktop mode and the file systems have varied from exFAT, NTFS, and ext4.

I saw the drd setting when I went to change the uma size. I was tempted to change it, but held off, thinking the dual role setting would resolve itself correctly.

I just switched it over and it successfully detected the drives!

So far, it seems to be working now.

    Thanks for the tip!

Hey, if you’re up for a small experiment, I know u/darkuni seems to be gathering some data points on this issue in another post. This issue was fixed for me seemingly with the 3.5.7 update, but many with the update are still having the issue (as you were). One thing I did that I just remember was after I got the update but before checking if any drives worked, I went to test to see if the bios setting worked at all (which it did) and then switched it back to DRD to see if it worked in the update (again, which it did). Maybe flipping that setting from DRD to XHCI and back to DRD did something to reset something in the system.

Now that you got it working, Can you go back into the bios and see if setting it back to DRD breaks it again? If so, you now know how to fix it :)

I just swapped the setting back to DRD and sadly it no longer detects my devices. Very interesting though. Thanks for the input!
