I (a 40 year old dude) have never been to Minnesota, but me and my father are flying in to go to our only ever home game on Monday. What are the insider secrets that we should know about pre game and post game? What are the “don’t miss” moments from the season ticket holders? My grandfather got my dad into the Vikings in the 70s. And I grew up a fan but we are from Vancouver Canada. We are Norwegian decent so sons of Norway was a big thing for my grandparents. We are in club seats and super excited. Let us know Minneapolis, Any tips?
I’d try to take the light rail or some form of public transportation to the game unless you are staying close to the stadium. You won’t have issues ubering to the game for a good price but after the game, the prices are absurd. You will either have to bite the bullet or wait for quite awhile at a bar or something to let the prices go down.
Make sure you are in your seats at least 20 min before kick off. Really cool pregame presentation. Especially for Monday night games. I’d head into the stadium at least 35 min before kick to get through lines and find your seats.
Enter through the Legacy gates if you want to have the coolest entrance into the stadium (Vikings ship, pregame festivities, fanfare etc.). These are the large swiveling doors. Otherwise see which gate is closest to your seats and enter that one.
For before the game, I tailgate so I’ll be in the quarterback lot. There’s plenty of food and drinks to go around but I would definitely bring some of your own drinks just in case.
If you aren’t wanting the cold tailgate scene, plenty of bars near the stadium within a couple blocks but I’d get there at least 1.5 hours before the game to get a spot for a few drinks.
Lastly, I always say this, EMRACE the atmosphere. It’s an incredible venue to watch football and our fans are so passionate. Help us force some false starts and delay of games by getting as loud as possible.
We will be around the stadium well before the game. Hope to see you at the tailgating. We will bring a few beers around. Where in the quarterback area do we find you? I’ll be in a personalized 55 jersey with my own name, dad’s in a Moss 84. Hope to share a beer before the game. Skol
