Per 100, when that person is on the court. The reason both Kat and Rudy are up their is because theycown the paint, so much so that it makes people alter and think about their shot just in anticipation of them. This is actual an intangible thing that doesn’t show up in the stats, ie a category like blocks that doesn’t exist but is equivalent because it is lowering the opponents’ fg%, and that is one reason why defense rating actually does give you insight into how good a defender is.
No it doesn’t. You literally just said nothing, the reason why kat is so high is because he has a good defensive team. His teams defensive rating is good so naturally he will have a good one as well. You do just look at stats because anyone who watches basketball knows kat is a bad defender and Russ is a average to below average defender who just gives effort. Defensive rating doesn’t calculate defense it calculates points. Which isn’t defense.
Wrong, it’s a strong as it’s weakest link… you’re thinking of defense too one dimensionally and apparently don’t know how to read if you think I just said nothing.
As I said you said nothing, defensive rating doesn’t calculate defense it calculates points. Easy way to debunk this stat is Evan mobley, top 3 defender in the nba rn and isn’t on this list… wanna know why? Because his team is like the top 20th ranked defense or something like that.
Nic claxton, Mikal Bridges, dfs aren’t on this list because they are on a bad ranked defensive team. There ya go this entire stat is debunked. Don’t use this stat unless it’s to calculate how good a TEAMS defense is.

I think when I looked it said he is 18, so he is up there.
Further, I don’t think you know how this stat works:
“Only the buckets that are scored as a result of his defensive lapses are counted against him.”

Wemby isn’t on this list because his teams defense is terrible
