So I just recently got the OLE Deck and have been loving it. All my games play great, even Dark Souls II, up until today. I played a little last night, got bored and uninstalled it, reinstalled it today to play again, and when I launch it, it’s just a black screen. The music plays and I can even interact with the menu, but nothing’s on screen.

None of my other games do this, just Dark Souls II. Looking at black screen posts sees that Elden Ring did this in the past too apparently. Any solution?

So far I’ve changed compatibility to Proton 7, verified game files, uninstalled and reinstalled all to no avail.

    Proton experimental?

Just try proton releases until you find one that works.

As a side note, dark souls 2 is my favorite game ever made. I hope you get it to work

I fixed it. I uninstalled, reinstalled, then opened on desktop first before opening on steam game mode. Something something resolution was the problem maybe? Idk, but it happened to others before and their solution worked for me.

I’ve played DSII a handful of times and it started off as my least favorite and is now my favorite of the Souls trilogy. It’s overhated and underrated.
