I like to lock at 30 with a mix of max/med settings for that super smooth frame time graph. It’s basically totally flat 90% of the time. 10w tdp
That sucks man I just used my fingernails by the triggers on each side. Popped right open
I just made sure both were updated to 3.5 then swapped the ssd and SD card over and it was like I never switched devices. Everything the same no issues
No but squeaking is a pretty easy fix
You can either put the thinnest layer of dielectric grease on the backplate and front shells clips
or just grab a replacement backplate from ifixit.com

It’s so much worse than android
Proton experimental?
Just try proton releases until you find one that works.
As a side note, dark souls 2 is my favorite game ever made. I hope you get it to work
Meh I think Elden ring is great at 30fps it’s super stable in terms of frametimes.
I like to limit the TDP to 10w for elden ring so I prob wouldn’t cap at 34
I am fine with lower frame rates as long as they are somewhat stable. Not a lot of stuttering etc. This is sadly not the case with BG3 on Steam Deck.
Unfortunately as much as I love BG3 and the Steam Deck in my opinion the experience is ass.
Especially in Act 3. Even on my OLED model on OS v3.5 it’s just all over the place in the city of baldurs gate.
I don’t think people are considering battery and thermals as much as they should…The OLED deck has a beautiful screen yes but the improvements to battery life and shrinking the SOC down to 6nm/redesigning the fan are just as impressive. That’s really why I would never pick any other handheld on the market over the OLED deck right now.
limiting framerate to 30 and limiting TDP to 10 I am getting like 3.5 hours of battery life or more in Elden Ring on the OLED. It’s incredible and butter smooth. The fan is whisper quiet and the device runs super cool (55-65C)
bad luck. I have 2 LCD decks and an OLED no issues with any of them really.
yes no issues.
I had a screen protector on my original 512gb deck with matte screen for well over a year. when I did a shell swap I removed it and it was totally perfect underneath
I had to do a bunch of fixes like this on my LCD deck.
Bumpers making a double click noise when pressed, had to remove foam pads that protect the bumper buttons in case of impact on the newer LCD models.
Trigger scraping shell…had to unscrew trigger ass. and hold slightly in one direction while I tightened the screws back up so it cleared the shell completely when depressed.
Creaky case…replaced backplate.
Creaking/springy noise from trigger…had to go in and just move the spring 180 degrees.
So far my OLED has been perfect. Lets hope it stays that way lol. Sick of having to replace back plates and stuff from the clips not engaging as well as when it was new from opening it up so many times.
512gb - samsung screen
no issues. I have played probably 10 hours it’s been perfect.
worked for me
Steam button + X button to open keyboard
Steam Button + Trackpad movement to move mouse cursor
I have had no issues with launchers using these shortcuts.
It’s been absolutely amazing for me in Elden Ring, cyberpunk, days gone, etc.
I use really sensitive IEMs with it usually so haven’t had a need.
But I have connected the Qudelix 5k to it before and used that via bluetooth.
I have a hip dac for work but meh. Unless I was docked and using the deck in a desktop way, I wouldn’t use that.
Hmm I will test it when I get home later I’ve not used the bluetooth yet. I generally always prefer wired IEMs. No issues and you can get absurd quality that just isn’t there with bluetooth headphones or IEMs.
Don’t mention Starfield
My heart is still broken
Back to Skyrim 😔
