Hello, I have recently returned to dota and unfortunately may not stay for long since every time the game crashes steam makes it impossible for me to start the game again. Happens so often that at this rate I will need to hire a booster full time to recover my behav score.
Its always stuck on Downloading Content 0%.
If I try to verify file integrity: its stuck at 0%.
I tried to:
- kill steam process,
- restart steam,
- restart the computer,
- change steam account,
- run steam as admin
- delete all dota and try to download it again - stuck at 0%
nothing helps.
After 15-20 min everything works fine, I get free abandon.
I suspect Chrome/Bing browser hogs memory causing crashes. But I didn’t prove it yet.
Last crash it recovered automatically right away and this is how it happened:
When you get corruption error, click OK on it before everything collapses on its own.
Then leave steam idle.
Don’t try to relaunch or anything, it will automatically do file verification
Once done it will let you in.
