    No one seems to have mentioned the likely reason for this is a drop in advertising across digital gaming sites. Despite being a stellar year for games, the actual money flowing into them via advertising that help these sites pay for their staff. YouTube and Meta make up such a huge portion of marketing teams’ digital advertising budgets it’s suffocating the more traditional editorial sites, that need to fight for the scraps.

    Expect to continue to see editorial sites becoming a thing of the past.
