It has been quite comical to hear how many fans are complaining and wanting to fire Carroll after a quick successful rebuild year.
Yes, obviously the offense has its problems. Also, injuries have played a big role for this team, especially on the O-line. Hell, we have a 41 year old RT starting for us.
IMO, the Seahawks are right where they should be, which is on a cusp of a wild card. I don’t think some fans realize how difficult it is to make it to the superbowl, let alone the playoffs.
- To put it into perspective the 49ers havent won a super bowl since 94’.
The cowboys haven’t won a superbowl since 96’
We were absolutely spoiled by LOB years. This team is still young and growing.
Reich’s firing is a reminder that although Seattle Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll may have his flaws, he’s still better at his job than most and there’s a reason why he’s stuck around so long.

If we fire Pete Carroll, your taking a complete gamble on a coach with a lesser resume. Now what if that new coach does worse? Then what?
Mike McDaniels, Kyle Shanahan, Matt Laflauer, Zac Taylor may all be good coaches. But, none of them have won a superbowl.
Another example :
There are 32 teams in the NFL. Each season, only 2 of these teams make it to the Super Bowl. This means that in any given season, the chance of a specific team making it to the Super Bowl is roughly ( \frac{2}{32} ) or ( \frac{1}{16} ). This translates to a 6.25% chance for any particular team to reach the Super Bowl in a given year.
However, this is an oversimplified calculation. Realistically, the difficulty varies significantly based on team strength, injuries, and other factors. Some teams might have a higher likelihood in a given season due to stronger rosters or weaker competition, while others might have a lower chance. This percentage is merely a statistical average and doesn’t account for the complexities of the sport.
Regardless of what you think of this team and its coaches. We’re a top team in the league in achievements. That alone should say something.
This is just a lazy way to look at things.
Over the last 5 years this team has won 1 playoff game. 1. That’s it. They haven’t been out of the divisional round since 2014. 21 teams have won at least 1 playoff game over the last 5 years.
So top team based on what? Being constantly SLIGHTLY above average? If that’s your expectation as a fan be my guest.
I don’t expect us to be in the Super Bowl every year. No one does that’s a strawman. But I expect us to at least make SOME noise in the playoffs once a fucking decade. And guess what? It’s about to be a fucking decade in a year.
The LOB is ages ago. Might as well be a million years in football terms. Look at the last 7-8 years. Some of which were still with prime Wilson…
