You all are seeing what every other team with a bad QB sees and feels. Play callers tend to look pretty awful with a bad QB.
I’m sorry, but 6 front offices missing on a good QB? That’s unlikely. Teams miss sometimes on players, but that would be an incredible outlier.
Dobbs is athletic, would be a great backup, and can make some fun plays. But highlight ability does not make someone a good QB. Otherwise do you think Fields is a good QB? Because he’s clearly better and can make some big plays from nothing too. (Spoiler: Fields is going to be replace soon for good reason).
Dobbs is a slow processer which leads to sacks or last ditch efforts to gain yards with his legs. He has a weak arm which shows up when he needs to throw out routes and posts. And he is a statue if he tries to say in the pocket until he might ditch to try and escape even if there was a dump off available that he forgot about or failed to see.
I disagree with the play calling at the end tbf. I think we should have gone for the win. However, it is difficult to blame KOC if he simply did not trust Dobbs. He had one legit, good drive all game long against a bad defense.
TLDR; Dobbs is bad. If you thought otherwise, you should feel bad. Sorry. Start Mullens or Hall.
No excuse needed, just a normal thing to do, worst case scenario, you give the bears the ball back without killing any clock, which realistically could have happened. Me personally, I don’t trust Dobbs throwing or even running there.
If we throw the ball 3 times and all 3 passes go incomplete, the Bears get the ball back with 4+ minutes needing a field goal to go ahead.
If we run the ball 2x and pass once, the Bears get the ball back with 3+ minutes needing a field goal to win. Which ices the game for the Bears.
The game would not have been won with a field goal. This should have been an aggressive drive to attempt to put the game away.
KOC’s play calls were 2 minutes too early for that drive.
