If we throw the ball 3 times and all 3 passes go incomplete, the Bears get the ball back with 4+ minutes needing a field goal to go ahead.
If we run the ball 2x and pass once, the Bears get the ball back with 3+ minutes needing a field goal to win. Which ices the game for the Bears.
The game would not have been won with a field goal. This should have been an aggressive drive to attempt to put the game away.
KOC’s play calls were 2 minutes too early for that drive.
It’s not the question but I’m close with a lot of former Twins.
I played baseball at a high level and happened to live near the AA team in my 20’s (when I was single/working stiff).
Twins are a cheap organization and made AA players pay for their own housing. But when they had top prospects or guys they were sending down to AA for a few weeks, they needed temp housing. Since I was in the baseball world I knew the GM who asked if I’d take in short term players. I was a traveling sales rep who was barely home so it was a nice way to make extra cash and these guys were living out of duffle bags.
Since they didn’t know anyone, I was their connection to the local area and we’d always take them out.
One of the guys became an every day player for a while in Minnesota and I’d fly out to see him. He was close with some Vikings guys and I hung with a few of them a couple times.
I don’t have any juicy stories (about the Vikings) or anything crazy to say other than Jim Kleinsasser will always be my favorite Viking player .
