The problem with Chauncey is he only had one year of assistant coaching experience.
I’m with you that I prefer experienced head coaches but the point I was making is that there are still first-time head coaches out there who prove to be impactful from the very start. Those generally have similar backgrounds (very experienced and smart assistants under great head coaches). If they can evaluate those properly then I’d absolutely be okay with them getting one
