I understand that the current method of selecting groups was to ensure the best teams are more likely to end up in the knockouts, and thus be more likely to drum up interest - but assuming the tournament is a success, do you foresee the groups being division-based in the near future? One of the things that the NBA currently lacks in comparison to other leagues is team rivalries, and I feel like the groups being the divisions (and thus the same every year) is a good opportunity to start investing in the growth of those kinds of rivalries.

I was just looking at Cade’s game logs to start his rookie season because I remember him having a rough start as well. Dude was 1-21 from 3 through his first three games. He isn’t known as a great shooter by any means but he’s passable there and is off to a great start this year

I’m with you that I prefer experienced head coaches but the point I was making is that there are still first-time head coaches out there who prove to be impactful from the very start. Those generally have similar backgrounds (very experienced and smart assistants under great head coaches). If they can evaluate those properly then I’d absolutely be okay with them getting one
