NBA just came out with their new pointlessly named awards last year including adding the new Jerry West Clutch Player of the Year award
So if they were gonna add awards, why did they not add awards specific for board-men & playmaker guys? Like Mitchell Robinson this year would win the Dennis Rodman/Wilt Chamberlain Board-Man of the Year award, and Tyrese Haliburton would win whatever name for the top playmaker guy trophy or whatever
Just seems weird to not have those types added in:
Potential past winners would be Steven Adams, Andre Drummond, Dwight Howard, Charles Barkley, Zach Randolph… etc.
And for playmaker guy award some past winners would be Chris Paul, Mario Chalmers, Dion Waiters, Lu Dort… etc.
Like, whoever leads X counting stat gets an “award”, named after someone, 80-90% of the people actually watching the games weren’t alive yet to see actually play?
Yeah. Why not? :)
That is a generally insightful response the league’s tone deaf PR. :) If that’s what the NBA is going to do, then don’t half-ass it, and do it right. :)
