I think that whole thought process has led to the current refs we have today that are inconsistent and low key seem like they have money on games. If you consistently don’t care how the refs do their job than what’s the point of having refs? I mean honestly If refs can’t change a game that much then we shouldn’t have them, eh? We need to have a system that makes sure refs uphold the rules of the game for both sides and I don’t understand why that is controversial to some fans of the game.
You’re misreading the thought process entirely. Nobody is saying they don’t care what the refs do or how they perform. They’re saying you’re not going to change calls during live action and need to put the players in position to overcome whatever the variance of officiating is that day.
