Detroit is -5 in turnover ratio for the year. 3 turnovers to the Seahawks, game lost in overtime. 4 turnovers to the bears, -3 overall, lions found a way to get it done. The defense did fairly well that day considering it seemed almost every drive for the bears started in + territory. 3 turnovers against FTP and the game came down to an onside kick, which that game the packers had a good game plan and the lions lacked a pass rush at all. Obviously the lions offense was on pace during the chargers game which the defense couldn’t defend a cinder block in the air. But overall, besides the ravens game, DC is right when it comes to protecting the ball. Gives me some confidence coming down the final stretch, especially if Goff can get his head screwed back on again. The defense really needs to get after the ball tho to. Me personally, almost feels like limbo land until something gives.

Our defense can’t force turnovers because QBs have all day to throw.

It was the same issue the first half of last year. Apparently they simplified the defense and that’s when they started playing way better and generating turnovers.

I bet you AG reverted back to the more complex defense from last year. Old man doesn’t learn

Doesn’t change the fact that the offense has been turning it over a lot.

The defense hasn’t changed much this season and is still playing more zone than man. Stop making shit up if you have no idea what you’re talking about.

Ironic you say this when I mentioned nothing about playing man vs zone. So perhaps you should practice what you preach when you literal made shit up

Fr man. Lions playing way more zone this year and during the beginning of last hear they played a lot of man. Also, last year they were less focused on run defense. The DL is focused on contain this year which has helped the run defense but hurts the pass rush.

I don’t even know what you’re watching tbh.

Most teams are throwing the ball very quick against us… They’re getting the ball out before we even have a chance to get home and our coverage is incredibly soft allowing them to do this.

I should be asking you this instead. There was a recent stat posted showing how we were in the bottom half of the league in giving the most time for opposing QBs time to throw.

I will say this, love did a good job at that on thanksgiving, ball was out quick, but I believe I saw a clip where they had the tackle block hutch, then the tight end chipped him, and the rb solidified the block. That’s 3 people to one person. DC always preaches you have to win your 1on1’s. The rest of the defensive line is absolutely not doing that while hutch is getting dogged for having schemes designed to take him away from the game. A game plan like that also allows players to get to the second level quicker to block. Without a defensive rush, a blitz even becomes mute because offensive linemen are winning their 1on1’s against the lions dline by time hutch even gets to the qb , other players are freed up to defend the blitz.
