Absolutely. The turnovers force the defense to play for longer than it should and puts the other team in great field position.

This also applies to the 4th down calls and such as well. You can’t keep giving the other team great field position like that.

The defense hasn’t been particularly good since the ravens game, but it’s hard for me to blame them that badly when the offense has had too many instances of going 3 and out quickly (like in Baltimore), coughing up the ball, or not converting on 4th down. You’re setting them up to fail when you do that.

And who’s to say that the Vikings, who also play Green Bay in week 17, couldn’t lose to them?

It’s not all on the defense. It’s not all on the offense. But it is on everyone to fix things because it isn’t just one thing.

Is the defense not playing well? Sure. It’s had some pretty bad games, but the defense isn’t being helped by a suddenly mistake prone offense that keeps turning the ball over. And it isn’t just one guy; it’s fumbles, it’s INTs, protection has broken down a bit, some bad red zone playcalling (notably in the raiders game).

Things do need to improve. And that’s ok.

If the browns somehow win the AFC North (they’re only a 1/2 game back) then yeah I 100% agree.

Playoffs are close to if not guaranteed at this point. I don’t see a world where a team with 8 wins misses the playoffs in this NFC. I could absolutely see a world where the best team left out in the NFC has maybe 7-8 wins, and that’s probably coming from one of the two teams in the NFC south, where the lions would have tiebreakers over both the falcons and Bucs.

As for the north, one game at a time. Only focus on what the Vikings are doing when you play them week 16.

The common opponents tiebreakers only apply when 4 or more opponents are common.

So this doesn’t apply until the very end of the season. Plus it’s like tiebreaker #3.

Jesus Christ. Even if the bears win tomorrow i don’t think fields could even put up half of that stat line

Probably not but it’s up there. Last year though we had the record for most different QBs to start a game in a given year.

And what’s most telling to me is that despite the NFL doing their best to prevent these kinds of injuries it just hasn’t helped to fix that problem. .
