I’ve changed oil myself god knows how many times, without issue.

Yesterday evening I changed my wife’s oil and didn’t give the gaskets a second thought since I’ve never had one stick.

Drove her car up and down the road after, no issues. Took her car to the store this morning (1.5 miles each way) turns out the oil filter was double gasketed and spewed oil all over.

Now I get to go and buy more oil, luckily it didn’t run completely dry and I was able to catch it.

Laugh at me. Check your gaskets.

Wait so you didn’t fix it, you just ran it as a time bomb? You could just remove the filter and pull the second gasket off. Or swap to a new filter. You’re not going to lose a ton of oil doing that. Wow
