I usually park my car in a garage while at home but sometimes i do overnight shifts and have to park her outside at work. Today after a night shift, temperatures dropped below 0 and it snowed. Tried to open the door but was frozen shut. Tried again and it opened but the window didnt go down as usual. Went to close the door but i wouldnt shut. Had to de-ice the entire window and blast warm air from the inside to melt for it to go down and close. Do you guys have any recommendations to prevent that from happening?
Yes. Buy a $5 tube of syl glide. Use a rag, wipe clean your door seals. Then apply a small amount of syl glide using the rag to draw it across the seal. Prevents water from getting in between the seals. This is something that is done at higher end dealers when cars get an oil change. See Porsche.
