Well, this is gonna fuck over a decent number of FGC people.
If you build your own fightstick, which is pretty common, basically the only way to get a PCB that’s MS-licensed is to hack up a legit Xbox controller (which is not an easy task compared to using most of the hobbyist PCBs). None of the Brook PCBs you can buy online, which are actually reasonable for an amateur stick-builder to use, are licensed, and those are strictly necessary if you want it to be compatible with more than one console (the Universal Fighting Board gives you a stick that’ll work on nearly anything).
So, yeah, I guess this is another gen Sony’s winning on that front.
