To me, it’s clear the Vikings front office would want to extend Cousins, ideally the shorter the contract the better. The price being the main issue.
However, this season to them isn’t completely down the drain, and regardless, we need to be spending draft capital on a QB in the near/immediate future. So the idea of the Vikings spending draft capital before the trade deadline would not be insane, but they also cannot trade for someone to be a clear starting threat to Cousins, but someone young and with potential to become the long term starter.
The best player that comes to my mind off the bat might be Trey Lance?
