To me, it’s clear the Vikings front office would want to extend Cousins, ideally the shorter the contract the better. The price being the main issue.

However, this season to them isn’t completely down the drain, and regardless, we need to be spending draft capital on a QB in the near/immediate future. So the idea of the Vikings spending draft capital before the trade deadline would not be insane, but they also cannot trade for someone to be a clear starting threat to Cousins, but someone young and with potential to become the long term starter.

The best player that comes to my mind off the bat might be Trey Lance?

honestly if Lance is the best we can do I say ride it out with Jaren Hall, if we’re gonna go get anyone, maybe JimmyG in Vegas? idk if they’d even trade him. I think they just play the rookie.

Lance never had the accuracy, which KOC said is the most important trait. Tyler Huntley in Baltimore had some good reps a few years ago

Unless people are under the delusion that this is a SB team, why on earth would they spend draft capital etc on a QB this year?

I do NOT want anything even close to a big contract for some kind of band aid bridge quarterback.

I’d rather just ride it out and draft.
