To what do we attribute the struggling secondary? Is it the first game w/Byard so communication was amiss? I was also getting a little concerned about Bradberry, he seems to be struggling but thats just based on the eye test. Hope we can get this cleaned up, because real QBs will quick slant us to death. Gannon flashbacks.

I would add this has been like the 7th or 8th reshuffling of the secondary in almost as many games. Slay and Bradberry need to know when they can expect to have safety help to do their jobs effectively.

I think the dolphins game was the game where we had the most stability in the secondary going into a game other than week 1. Slay was back from injury. We had sort of figured out a stop gap at nickel. Blankenship was out, but we had brown at safety, where he had regularly been getting reps. And edmonds had been playing consistently all season. To some extent I think it was the first time all season Desai knew what he could expect from the secondary and the secondary knew what they could expect from each other.

This week we added byard to the mix and had Brown splitting reps at nickel with ricks. Blankenship is back but not 100%. We traded away Edmunds. I think adding byard was good long term but its not surprising that his first week in a new system lead to some growing pains for the secondary. Hopefully this week Blankenship gets a little healthier.
