Positives:
Gradey is solid, no fear player, he stopped a 3 v 1 fastbreak on his own
Scottie is really him, watching him body multiple players in a 1 v 5 situation and get his own rebound and still score is kind of wild
Siakam involved himself in the offense a lot more
Darko seems to have a good feel for which players to trust and move up in the lineups re: GTJ and Gradey, and also has a good sense of how to take timeouts to interrupt runs by the other team
Negatives:
The bench is really, really bad without precious, and precious is still inconsistent, he is still easily the 3rd best player off the bench behind GTJ and Gradey, the rest of the bench is shockingly bad
I really don’t think Boucher can handle the pace of the NBA, I know he is a home grown Canadian player, but he just does not process the game nearly fast enough to play even passable minutes for even a short period off the bench
Flynn actually did some positive things offensively, but the amount he gives up defensively is just not worth it
The lack of rebounding is outstandingly bad, although it’s hard to rebound against Ayton to be fair
Questions:
Poeltl as the center for this team is increasingly questionable if he is not able to take on the role of the new Gasol, he is fumbling both passes in and out of the low post area, and it really interrupts the flow of the offense when he does, maybe he will be able to turn it around sooner than later
