Alan Wake 2 is releasing sandwiched between Spider-Man 2 and Modern Warfare 3 - yet I have not seen a single TV ad, digital takeover/ad or even launch trailer pre-roll on YouTube.

There seemed to be very minimal hype or previews leading up to the release too - and it’s release window is putting it up against some of the most heavily marketed games of the year.

Who the hell is in charge of marketing this game? They’ve clearly not done anything!

The review scores are glowing and it sounds like player feedback is overwhelming positive - but it just seems like a complete repeat of the first game where it’s destined to be a cult classic that people only discover 5+ years after release.

If it hadn’t been for various reddit posts I would’ve had no idea this game had even released.

Epic Games isn’t a small company but I’m sure that it’s not easy to beat stuff like Spider-Man, Mario and Call of Duty in marketing, specially when we’re talking about a niche series like Alan Wake

It was well marketed enough imo in the sense of press interviews and trailers, we had a lot of previews a few weeks ago. AW also made the Alone in the Dark reboot developers delay their game just to avoid this launch window with extremely big series and another horror game
