So…. Long story short I had a leaking valve cover I didn’t realize was leaking as bad as it was until today.
My oil pressure dropped momentarily on a extremely steep decline on the way to work but luckily it’s close to a parts store.
On the cold start to the parts store the gauge flickered quckily twice when it was at idle on a hill with no light until I gave it gas and started moving.
When I changed the oil and filter only about 3/6 quarts came out.
From experience usually when something like this happens it’s enough to start the clock on internals no matter how quiet it is or the kind of engine.
Any one seen it turn out any other way ?
If what you described was the only thing that happened you’re probably fine. I mean, I’m not suggesting that it did it any favors, but in the absence of any issues given you were on a decline especially and it was fairly momentary presumably after the engine was already warmed up and had oil in it, I would make sure to keep the oil changed at frequent intervals and carry on.
