Just leased a Volvo XC90 T8 Recharge for my wife. We do not have 240v in the garage and don’t plan on upgrading anytime soon. The charge cable has a strange in-line connector that allows you to swap out NEMA plugs. It is pretty bulky and about a foot from the plug. If I was to plug this directly into the wall outlet I suspect it would cause strain on the plug and reciprocal. I have an APC surge protector on my workbench and it would be convenient to plug directly into that and leave the cable bundle on the bench.

Any issues plugging a Level 1 charge cable into a surge protector?

Hmm, my 240v install was a $600 wiring pull from the basement to the garage and my electric utility (Colorado) had a $500 rebate, so it cost me $100, which itself is a tax deductible expense under the EV credit tax scheme.

Indiana has to be the least progressive when it comes to anything like that. Good to know it was only $600, I might call around to see if I can get pricing around there. It’s easily 200ft of wire but the path is all exposed.
