We always talk about hyping up new major releases, but I wanted to create a space for discussing upcoming indie projects, no matter how big or prestigious the team.
In terms of established teams, I’m incredibly excited for Earthblade next year, as Celeste is one of my favorite games.
Also wanted to shine on Unbeatable, an upcoming rhythm game that’s been on my mind since seeing the reveal trailer back in 2021. It’s a fairly ambitious game with some killer music and a great art style. I’m pretty sure it’s the team’s first game, so I hope things are going well for the them and their work pays off. You can play the demo free on Steam rn.
Also, just so it isn’t taking up 99% of the comments, let’s just all agree rn we’re looking forward to Silksong whenever that comes out.
I love indie games but I mostly play the ones that already gained popularity (Fez, goose game, Obra Dinn, Reventure, Papers Please, Yes Your Grace) so I’m rarely waiting for new ones. Let’s face it - most indie games are very mediocre or unpolished (for obvious reasons) and I’m not the kind of a gamer who likes to play such games.
