I’ll be honest I had Neal over him during the draft but he really won me over the second half of last year, but did dude literally forget how to block?

I wrote this in another thread anout him: In my oppinion he was not that bad against the Texans:

Sack 1 of the texans: Greenard went surprisingly inside. Ickey blocked him then, he didn’t trust his guard. So he block the DL and saw the LB Cashman blitzed when he was blocking Greenard. He was to late. He didn’t calculate the blitz. But to calculate the blitz is the job of the OC or - sorry I love him, but Bryce. Ickey looked bad there but it’s not his Fault.

Sack 2: First to say here: The complete oline collapsed. It Was a miscommunication. Bryce saw the line collapsed and started to go forward but every oliner thought Bryce will stand or escape to one side so everyone blocked them to the inside and who was there? Bryce… The mistake was from everyone and well done from the Texans Defense. No need to throw somebody under a bus.

Tackle for loss at 13:35 in the 3rd Quarter: I have no idea what happened there. But I’m talking about Ickey. He blocked his guy and blocked him perfectly for a pass play and a rushing play. But it was a rushing play. The bigger issue was the guard went forward and to block for rushing. But he let his Dliner come through? So Ekwonu and Bozeman hat to block this guy and it looked like Ickeys opponent would come through but he wasn’t.

Tackle for loss at 0:25 in the third: The line blocked everyone to the outside and on the inside there was a hole. RB ran outside and stopped. The design is questionable or they are on a different page

Sack at 14:16 in the 4th: Yes, Ickey was trucked. That’s his mistake. No doubt about that.

Sack at 10:36 in the 4th: Ikem had his Player completely under control. But again: The oline created a Big hole between him and the guard like 10 yards. Our RB came to him to block his Player, too. But through the hole the linebacker had no issues with coming to Bryce. Again a mistake of the play design.

Sack at 9:20: No receiver went open. The left side was good. Right Part of the oline was okay. Bryce went outside and the dliner caught him. Ickey did well. The whole oline did well, just let them push too far backwards. But things like this can happen.

Sack at 5:05: Ickey blocked his guy to the outside thinking Bryce stays in the pocket. Moton blocked his guy to the inside thinking Bryce would scramble and leave the pocket… yes… miscommunication, no way for Bryce… But miscommunication no big mistake in the playing itself.
