  • QB: Bryce is a rookie. Give him another year. Dalton as backup is very solid.

WR: Thielen for the next 2 years as WR2 is Solid. But we need a number 1 in the FA.

TE: What happened to Hurst? Tremble is okay but not a clear no. 1.

RB: When them 2 play like against Dallas, I’m fine with that. Maybe add a 3rd-down-powerback

Oline: I’m confident about Ickey and Moton. Both had flashes in some games. It’s about the scheme. Bozeman is okay, I think. We just need another scheme and guards. But the idea of switching Ickey to guard and find a better tackle is a very bad idea. It’s difficult to find a starting blind-side-tackle whos better than Ickey in the later rounds and we have no 1st rounder.

D-Line: We have Brown. Away from him I don’t See any quality interior lineman.

Edge: Burns and on the other side YGM/Haynes/Houston share 1 Spot. It’s too expensive to Upgrade. If you get any good Edge from FA like Sweat for a 2nd(?) that would be a Deal. But otherwise not.

LB: Luvu and Shaq… When they are fit and EJ stays our DC, it’s a Top 10/Border Top 5 duo. Having a Pokemon-Master as no 3 if one of them is injured, is a cheap and maybe Solid solution.

Backfield: The best addition for the DB would be Tepper changing back his turf-graveyard to grass. A healthy Horn is an elite no. 1 CB. Surrounded by Henderson, Hill, Jackson and Bootle, I don’t See any issues in there. And Safety: Xavier, Vonn, Jammie and maybe Chinn(it’s the same question with DJ Johnson on Edge. Do we keep a Player where we don’t know how to use him and trying to find out? If he plays for 1 or 2M per season, I would say yes. Has the pot for a good safety but maybe we let him go to fill the bigger holes)

Summary: QB-Room: Starter: Give it Time, Backup: Elite WR: Starter: We need a speedster. Draft Target Rd. 2. No. 2 Elite, No. 3-5: sign the quickest UDFAs TE: Drafting Target Day 3 RB: it’s okay when the line holds. Maybe add a UDFA OT: Okay C: Okay OG: Draft Target Rd. 4 and sign a veteran. Interior DL: Sign 2 Veterans next to Brown(Elite) Edge: If someone cheap is available ILB: No issues. DB: Change the turf!!!. Maybe UDFA for rotation or a Safety Day 3 if someone has Talent.

  • I wrote this in another thread anout him: In my oppinion he was not that bad against the Texans:

Sack 1 of the texans: Greenard went surprisingly inside. Ickey blocked him then, he didn’t trust his guard. So he block the DL and saw the LB Cashman blitzed when he was blocking Greenard. He was to late. He didn’t calculate the blitz. But to calculate the blitz is the job of the OC or - sorry I love him, but Bryce. Ickey looked bad there but it’s not his Fault.

Sack 2: First to say here: The complete oline collapsed. It Was a miscommunication. Bryce saw the line collapsed and started to go forward but every oliner thought Bryce will stand or escape to one side so everyone blocked them to the inside and who was there? Bryce… The mistake was from everyone and well done from the Texans Defense. No need to throw somebody under a bus.

Tackle for loss at 13:35 in the 3rd Quarter: I have no idea what happened there. But I’m talking about Ickey. He blocked his guy and blocked him perfectly for a pass play and a rushing play. But it was a rushing play. The bigger issue was the guard went forward and to block for rushing. But he let his Dliner come through? So Ekwonu and Bozeman hat to block this guy and it looked like Ickeys opponent would come through but he wasn’t.

Tackle for loss at 0:25 in the third: The line blocked everyone to the outside and on the inside there was a hole. RB ran outside and stopped. The design is questionable or they are on a different page

Sack at 14:16 in the 4th: Yes, Ickey was trucked. That’s his mistake. No doubt about that.

Sack at 10:36 in the 4th: Ikem had his Player completely under control. But again: The oline created a Big hole between him and the guard like 10 yards. Our RB came to him to block his Player, too. But through the hole the linebacker had no issues with coming to Bryce. Again a mistake of the play design.

Sack at 9:20: No receiver went open. The left side was good. Right Part of the oline was okay. Bryce went outside and the dliner caught him. Ickey did well. The whole oline did well, just let them push too far backwards. But things like this can happen.

Sack at 5:05: Ickey blocked his guy to the outside thinking Bryce stays in the pocket. Moton blocked his guy to the inside thinking Bryce would scramble and leave the pocket… yes… miscommunication, no way for Bryce… But miscommunication no big mistake in the playing itself.

  • Maybe the solution to draft a tackle in the third round is the way to go. The second rounder we need to draft a speedster project to make him a good route runner. He just needs to be intelligent and fast.

To come back drafting a tackle in round 3: Every year a very good tackle falls to day 2 or day 3 because his arms are too short. That’s our guy. Let Ickey play LT and this guy LG.

I know Ickey looked horrible against the Texans but our left side of the o-line was ripped apart. Ickey did wrong sometimes to try to cover the inside so his d-liner had no big deal to create pressure from the outside.

Maybe it’s because we can’t practise or play with the same oline for several weeks.
