Title. Making this post because for a long time after they snapped our playoff drought, they were probably my favorite AFC team aside from the Bills. In a way, we have them to thank for helping kick off our identity as a fanbase that likes to give back. After Damar’s injury, the players and coaching staff were a class act from what I saw.
After the playoff game though, it seemed like a lot of the Bengals’ players felt slighted by the NFL’s decision to not resume the game and took pleasure in knocking us out. Maybe I’m just bitter over the loss, but that really rubbed me the wrong way. I’m curious to see if others feel similarly, or if I’m just letting the actions of a few loudmouths color my perception of a team and fanbase inappropriately.
Fuck the Bengals, easily my most hated team in the league. They seriously act like they’re God’s gift to football just because they lost 1 Super Bowl. It doesn’t make sense to me how people clown on the Bills for losing 4 straight super bowls, but then worship the almighty Bengals just because they stumbled their way to 1 Super Bowl appearance and won a bunch of close fluky games just to lose that game to one of the worst Super Bowl winning teams in recent memory. Burrow also isn’t anywhere close to Josh as a QB, Josh is head and shoulders above him and he’ll prove as much Sunday night. Then the excuses will be made for Burrow “not being 100%” when Josh is the one who’s actually playing through a real injury.
