Look I’m a City fan, but even I can see the media has gone over the top today. The managers United have had should have achieved more but it seems the system is broken.

I tend to agree with Goldbridge in thinking what comes after Ten Hag?

It seems from the other subreddits that there is a split on who to blame. Ten Hag or the Glazers. While I do agree that the system is broken as far as I’m aware the Glazers aren’t forcing ETH to pick and play players so not sure how much they’re to blame for what happens on the pitch. Other are saying ETH isn’t getting his first choice signings or they’re over paying. This happens to nearly every club. Liverpool wanted Caceido but had to make do with Endo.

Shifting the unwanted players is an issue for them but it doesn’t let them get away with the failings on the pitch. I’ve seen people point out to LVG and Mourinho not lasting shows the failings at the top but Mourinho never gets past the third season regardless and LVG got hounded out because the fans didn’t understand his philosophy (LVG stated at the beginning that the first season he was going to set up a defensive structure, second season was about possession and third season would tie it together like at Bayern. But he was sacked after winning the FA cup because the fans were calling for it because of the boring football but didn’t understand the bigger picture he had)

The team Man Utd fielded yesterday was arguably better than Newcastle’s but they had a philosophy and knew what they were doing on the pitch. IMO this comes down to the training ground and tactics and the manager implementing his ideas. Not sure how the Glazers are responsible for that. ETH seems to have the power to drop players and move them on if he wants and also buy the players he wants. He has dropped Sancho and moved on Ronaldo, Fred and others.

People are saying that Pep or Klopp couldn’t make this team play but I disagree. They have set identifies on how they play and slightly adjust according to the players and evolve tactically. It seems ETH is out of his depth but like you mentioned which manager is there to replace him?
