Hey guys! I’m going to go over a few wide receivers I think we could target in the draft this year - this is assuming we stay with Mac and Bill, because there’s not really a point in theorizing the dozens of other possible outcomes.
-
Marvin Harrison Jr (Ohio State) - Julio Jones level athletic freak with an obvious instant impact. If he’s available at pick 3-5 and we are there, I think it’s a literal no brainer.
-
Emeka Egbuka (Ohio State) - there’s no way Bill doesn’t love this guy. He’s a YAC machine, an absolute animal in the run block game, and has 4.4 speed. Bonus? He played corner in high school and is extremely competitive (edelman vibes.)
-
Johnny Wilson (Florida State) - This dude is 6’7, 235 pounds, and can run a sub 4.5. You could line him up in line, you could line him up outside, or as a very, very big slot in the run game. He’s too big to press, which is usually a weakness in tall receivers. He’s also A good route runner, and doesn’t win just on size. A very intriguing prospect for the late 2nd/3rd round.
-
Jermaine Burton (Alabama) - Athletic as all get out. He’s fast (4.4 in HS, likely 4.3 now) he’s quick (sub 4 shuttle also in HS) and he’s explosive (40 inch vertical in HS.) This dude oozes potential but hasn’t put it all together yet. He’s got good hands, solid route running, and a real mean attitude as a blocker. He’s a bit raw, but the potential is there (if we can get a better WR coach….) A great 3rd round target in my opinion.
What do you guys hope for? Who is your favorite early round target?
How do you not include Malik Nabers? He’s the second best prospect imo behind MHJ. Unless we get a top 3 pick, it’s way more realistic to target him in the first round vs MHJ.
