I know achievements will dictate whether he’ll belong or not but as a player, and the skillset he possesses, do you think he will be talked about like how Steph Curry is being talked about as a shoe-in for Top 10 status?
I think yes because at the core of his game, he is a Top 5 offensive player of all time and it would’ve been sealed had he won MVP and FMVP this year (what a travesty giving it to Embiid). He is statistically as impactful as Michael Jordan and that says a lot.
Looking at his game, he’s the perfect offensive center who can do it all minus the athletic feats. He’s like Magic Johnson but he’s a more reliable and more efficient scorer who mainly playmakes from the high post.
The thing with Jokic is, his game is built to last. It isn’t reliant on athleticism and will be a consistent threat unless he retires early. I honestly think he’ll be in the mix for Top 10 when all is said and done.
I mean let’s look at both of their resumes by age 27.
Curry at age 27 or the end of the 2016 season. 3x all star, 1x all nba 2nd team 2x all nba first team, 2x MVP 1 ring 1x steal leader and scoring leader if you care.
Jokic at age 27 or the end of this year. 5x all star, 2x all nba 2nd team, 3x all nba first team, 2x MVP 1 ring and FMVP.
There is no telling what will happen over the next however many years Jokic plays. His resume at this age is really good and he is just entering his prime.
