Everything seems to be on schedule and I should be picking up my car in two weeks. Just wanted to ask those that have experience with it, a few questions about that day. I have explored financing options, and I’ve got a rate of 6.1% to finance over 60 months. I’m not sure if I’m going to finance or just pay upfront for the whole car. Anyone have any thoughts on that? Also, what kind of up-selling can I expect from the dealership on my pick up date? Do you opt for the extended warranty? This will be my daily driver, that being said, I’ve never kept a car over three years, but this is my first Porsche and I may keep it longer. Anyone have cost details on the extended warranty they offer when buying a new 911? I’m excited, but also a bit in the dark on a few things; any input would be greatly appreciated.

I ended up adding Wheel/Tire/Dent Warranty (5 Year Plan) for around $5k and an Extended Warranty that’s Porsche’s (+2 Year) for around the same I believe, both rolled into my finance. Both are service contracts, in particular the Extended Warranty, so if I don’t even keep my car through its original factory warranty, I’ll get the entire amount back as a check. The Tire/Wheel one will be pro-rated back. It was relatively expensive for that one, but on a GT3 I think the rates were higher and the vendor they went with is known to be no questions/no hassle. Centerlock labor and fresh Sport Cup 2s included. I ended up declining the prepaid maintenance contracts because on the 992 GT3 they were following the book schedule where the spark plug service is every 2 years and at the dealership that is an insane book rate.
