It feels like this Game could be a turning point, Maybe it is just because Seattle games have been so key to us.

2005 Playoffs. We ended the game on a heater winning the last 5 games. We beat Tampa in the playoffs (the last playoff game we have won) and faced the Seahawks. After Seattle won, their first Playoff win in 21 tries, they went on to the Superbowl and lost to the Steelers. Had the Redskins won that Game I think things might have been different. (We beat Seattle in OT during the season we were almost exactly as good as they were).

2007 we reel of 4 straight wins. Go to the Playoffs. Face Seattle. Get smoked (sort of, Seattle scored 22 points in the final 6 minutes). Gibbs quits. Said afterward he honestly thought we were going to go to the SB.

Obviously the 2012 Playoff Game. RGIII vs Rookie Russ. You know what happened. We went up 14. They came back. The knee. Seattle went on the excellence and winning Championships under Russ. We became what we became.

2017 Kirk’s last year here. In Seattle he leads them on a 70 play 35 second drive late in the 4th to win in Seattle, the first Away team to do that in 3 years. The Team was missing 6 starters including 3 starting O-linemen. The Team lets Kirk walk because “he isn’t the guy to get us to the next level”.

2021 Washington’s win in Seattle all but ends Seattle’s Playoff Chances. There are 6 weeks left but after the loss to us, it is just a question of whether or not it will be Carroll or Russ to go. Their hopes of one last Russ/PeteC run was gone.

It is not logical, but it feels like almost any time we played them, the result mattered for the direction of the Teams more than the game itself. Yes, I didn’t include the ‘20 loss, but I couldn’t see how that fit my thesis [😊]. Just saying, I would be unsurprised to look back at this game in a few seasons and recognize that it was “bigger” than it seems right now.

We’ve beaten 4 trash teams by a very narrow margin in each game. We also lost to two of the worst teams, the Giants and the Bears.

A lot of people seem to be treating the losses to Philly as moral victories. Well, we lost.

We’ve won a single game where the opponent scored 18 or more points.

    We suck.
