My dad is an IT guy, and for years now, he’s been telling me that he installed some software to monitor my history, even when I use incognito. I didn’t believe him, because if that was true, I’d be dead by now. But two days ago, he told me he added some software for real this time. I didn’t believe him, until I heard him tell our guests about this software. I checked my laptop for recently opened and installed apps and couldn’t find anything, I don’t see anything suspicious on the task manager. (I do not know much about all of this stuff) What should I do? Is he bluffing?

I think the bigger thing here is that you guys need to have a talk.

Why is he monitoring it? Is it because of porn, crime, or something else?

I’m an IT admin, and also handle network and admin duties at the house as well. If I wanted to track our kids stuff, I could. I’m pretty sure they know this. That said… I don’t. Unless there were good reason to.

Instead of trying to get around whatever he might be doing (or might not be, maybe its just a threat), maybe you guys should sit down and talk about boundaries, rules, and expectations.
