Hello, I am running steam on linux and have been trying to get a game to run on my secondary harddrive for two years at this point but have never ending issues with proton. My harddrive is NTFS, mounted with the proper permissions, returns these errors. Is there any way to fix this?

Linux gaming has been an extreme headache since… forever for me. EXT4 only mounted as root so I couldn’t run steam, exfat doesn’t support symlinks and now ntfs is being pissy

I’m not going to say not to use NTFS since it’s your decision and there is probably a way you can get it to work with a lot of tweaking and researching online, but you will inevitably encounter issues using it. Even if you can fix them now, new ones will emerge in the future as proton and other Linux programs evolve. It’s just easier to use ext4/btrfs
