I am considering buying a steam deck since I love playing games but I am often too lazy to sit behind a PC and would just lay down on a couch and play handheld [either streaming from my pc or directly from storage] in the living room near my girlfriend.

The thing is that I have a relatively strong PC and I feel like I would just waste money doing that and I just feel that I am too spoiled at the moment…

Anyone have had the same decision making issue, went for it and is satisfied, or on the other hand regret the buy?

I consider the classic 256 gb version since the price dropped but need to justify it somehow.

Thanks for commenting!

Need is not the same is want. No one needs a steam deck, let alone an upgrade to oled but there’s absolutely nothing wrong with wanting something. If you want it and can afford the luxury, why not?

If you feel like your PC is already more than enough or don’t want to neglect it, you can always use it to stream games onto the deck.

I personally (will soon) have 4 gaming devices: a desktop, an aya neo 2021, a steam deck and a retroid pocket 2S. They all essentially do the same thing but serve different purposes. The desktop is for beefy AAA games, the neo is for emulation (I prefer windows over Linux for emulating), the steam deck light gaming and the retroid pocket 2S as something I can play “pick up and drop” games when I’m out and about (it’s perfect for places where there are long waits).
