I have a 4Runner with 224k miles. I change the oil every 5k and use full synthetic oil. I use Fram 10k oil filters. I’m curious if I can skip changing the filter everyother oil change. I know they are cheap, I’m just curious.

I change filters every other oil change have been doing so for 15 years. Most owners manual have a separate interval for the filter than the oil so I believe what they say over what a company who stands to profit off you buying their products say.
