I think the foundation of what we’re seeing now was laid years ago. It’s going to take a while to dig out of this and will require a different approach to drafting players and building an offense. I think it could be argued the Patriots have only made at best a handful of wise decisions on offense over the last half decade.

2018 - Draft Isiah Wynn as the LT of the future.

Wynn flashes at point as a LT, but is often injured and inconsistent when healthy.

2019 - Draft N’Keal Harry over a slew of better WR options.

Fail to draft or develop replacements for Edelman or White.

Trade for Mohammed Sanu

2020 - Cap reset year after Brady.

Trade out of 1st round, missing out on players like Aiyuk and Pittman.

Draft two bust TEs in the 3rd.

2021 - Let Joe Thuney, their best OL player, walk.

Sign Nelson Agholor and Jonnu Smith to large contracts.

Ignore burgeoning OL issues.

2022 - Let Ted Karras walk.

Let McDaniels go, along with half the FO and offensive coaching staff.

Install Matt Patricia as OC.

Install Joe Judge at QBC.

Do not hire a OL coach.

Draft Cole Strange at LG.

Draft Tyquan Thornton.

Bench Bourne.

2023 - Let Meyers walk.

Sign Juju Smith - Schuster.

Ignore OL issues from previous year.

Do not draft any offensive players in the top-100. First offensive players drafted is a back up Center.

Ignore issues at WR and do not bring in any impact players.

You are criticizing BB for drafting Tyquan Thornton and then the also criticizing him for not drafting a receiver in the top 100. You can’t have it both ways.

I do agree they should probably take more swings at receiver with top 100 picks but they also seem to suck at it.
