The projected 27-28 cap would be about $188M. A 35% of cap “Rose rule” max would be $65M the first year, with up to 8% YOY raises, for five years.
At a 2.86 multiplier, in order for a player to have an $80M in a single year contract, the cap would have to be $228M. So… 9-10 years from now / next CBA it might be possible.
