There are honestly a lot of things causing issues.
But if I had to sum it up to just the biggest, it would come down to poor Defensive communication and rotations, particularly on the perimeter…
A serious lack of rim pressure and dribble penetration…
And youth related unforced errors
The team is very easy to generate open perimeter looks against. They over help at times and other times completely forget to rotate to wide open Shooters
When the game slows down they lack the players with the ability to get downhill and cause defensive collapse and open up easy Looks on the perimeter. So instead they have to move the ball aimlessly swinging it around the horn. Hoping that someone either hits a contested shot or that opposing defense make an error
And they quite often create problems for themselves. Defensively with live ball turnovers paused from forcing the issue and making overly ambitious or poorly executed plays that will get a lot cleaner and sharper with experience.
I actually think this team has played really good stretches of basketball and every game except the Indiana and clippers games. It’s minimizing the mistakes and finding more consistency that’s going to start bringing in the wins. I’m not as doom and gloom as a lot of people on the subreddit and I do think we’re going to see some success in the quality of basketball product sooner rather than later.
