So y’all remember that Dobbs to Addison throw early in the Saints game?

Dobbs, knowing he was about to be trucked, threw a pass into a Addison - who was covered by Adebo, as well as Demario Davis, rushing in to assist. He was throwing to what seemed like a 50/50 ball (and later on throughout the game, Adebo was a tough matchup for Addison) and Davis rushed in. It was a risky throw that could have been picked off, or at least batted down. It went well nonetheless, although I’d almost credit that just as much to Addison’s hands as Dobbs’ accuracy.

Now, am I saying that Dobbs is some kind of HORRIBLE GM BUST WHO SHOULD BE SET ON FIRE AND THROWN TO THE DOGS? No. God no. He’s a great QB - his legs opens routes we just haven’t had under Kirk (who was playing damn well pre-achilles). Once JJ gets back he’ll be dynamite. This is more to say that the picks are going to start, and when they do we should absolutely not panic. That’s all. Plus, they’re probably going over this in the film room anyway.

Agreed. After watching Josh Allen suck a doo-doo popsicle tonight, I wouldn’t trade Dobbs for the world even after a few picks. Also KOC learned not to take the foot off the gas with this kid (with a lead), and a 4th and 3 is very manageable between the 40’s. I expect lots of route running this week to get Dobbs tuned.

I don’t think the lesson was necessarily to not take the foot off the gas. But the need to improve our ability to take time off the clock. He hasn’t had to coach much with a lead.
