Look at how many posts and comments are on here hyping up Dobbs and saying how we’re fine (or even better) without Kirk and how this is all just proof that we don’t need to extend him. Heck, people are already saying extend Dobbs and it’s been 2 games.

Why isn’t JJ in the same narrative? We’ve won the games with JJ sitting on the bench as well. Addison has looked like a real WR1 and we’ve got a star WR2 called the Hock.

If the argument is that we’re a good team since we won without them, why aren’t people saying trade JJ? His extension would probably cost almost as much as Kirk, but trading him probably nets you at least one(maybe two) first round picks and/ or several other high draft picks/ players, as well as the cap savings.

Just think of all the possibilities! If you let Kirk walk and you trade JJ, we’ll have like 20M more cap space in 2024, 60-70M more per year in cap space in 2025 and beyond, AND you probably have a ton more draft capital.

Now I’m absolutely not suggesting we should trade JJ, I’m just pointing out how that argument applies to more than just Kirk. Just stirring the pot. Happy Monday.

Nowhere in the post did I say we should trade JJ to keep Kirk.

I said that if we’re using the logic of we’re winning without Kirk so it’s ok to let him walk, the same could apply to JJ.

The difference is we actually would get trade/ draft assets for letting JJ go.

I don’t think we should trade JJ, just was calling out the irony of all the posts saying we don’t need Kirk.
