My car has felt terrible, vibrating on highway, feeling like it’s going to come apart after every bump. I took it to the tech and he said it was critical we replace the control arms (and the necessary alignment afterwards) quoted at $1,667 for parts and labor.
This is the local car mechanic that has been trustworthy in the past… but this seems super high to me…
Any advice? My car is a 60,000 mile 2017 subaru forester.
I really appreciate it.
Suggested list for aftermarket control arms is $300ish each.
Not sure what their labor rate is, but I usually use $169/hr, so that $600 in labor not including alignment.
Alignment would be maybe another 80-150.
In my opinion they’re a little bit high, but still in the ballpark.
