We’ve got good young talent that are figuring out how to play and how to win.

The biggest thing the Pistons are missing is they just don’t know how to win and close out games and that’s totally expected and makes sense because the vast majority of our lineups are rookies or guys in their first 3 years in the league.

Throw in Monty Williams a new head coach who’s trying to build from the ground up and things like increased turnovers make sense, as it looks like a lot of guys are still figuring out and thinking through the offense and the defense instead of just playing.

A lot of these games we’re losing are close games or games where we make a comeback take the lead, and it’s just the mistakes and inexperience that lead to losses, again learning how to win.

When you look at the Pistons last year they were the worst team in the league, they didn’t get the #1 draft pick, and didn’t make many offseason moves.

My question to people currently upset or despairing over the Pistons record is:

How many wins did you expect them to have this year before the season started?

Give me a number, and see if that number was realistic and if they have a chance of hitting that this year.

Last year Pistons Record: 17-65

This year my expectation is shoot for ~30+ wins and then pushing to make a play-in game would be a great season in my opinion, and I think all of that is 100% possible as of today.

Ausar looks awesome, Duren looked great before injury, Cade was balling until just recently, Ivey has been showing flashes in each game, and Sasser is still looking good too for a rookie.

Pay more attention to the players showing growth and flashes and don’t even worry about the record or the standings right now.

If we aren’t going to be in a position to win a championship these regular season records are completely irrelevant anyway.

The Pistons will be just fine, just let our talent develop and don’t forget to give props to our players and organization when we do actually start winning.

We should’ve known something was up when we played with our starters at Rico Hines and were still getting clapped up by rag tag teams of bench players from different squads
