We’ve got good young talent that are figuring out how to play and how to win.

The biggest thing the Pistons are missing is they just don’t know how to win and close out games and that’s totally expected and makes sense because the vast majority of our lineups are rookies or guys in their first 3 years in the league.

Throw in Monty Williams a new head coach who’s trying to build from the ground up and things like increased turnovers make sense, as it looks like a lot of guys are still figuring out and thinking through the offense and the defense instead of just playing.

A lot of these games we’re losing are close games or games where we make a comeback take the lead, and it’s just the mistakes and inexperience that lead to losses, again learning how to win.

When you look at the Pistons last year they were the worst team in the league, they didn’t get the #1 draft pick, and didn’t make many offseason moves.

My question to people currently upset or despairing over the Pistons record is:

How many wins did you expect them to have this year before the season started?

Give me a number, and see if that number was realistic and if they have a chance of hitting that this year.

Last year Pistons Record: 17-65

This year my expectation is shoot for ~30+ wins and then pushing to make a play-in game would be a great season in my opinion, and I think all of that is 100% possible as of today.

Ausar looks awesome, Duren looked great before injury, Cade was balling until just recently, Ivey has been showing flashes in each game, and Sasser is still looking good too for a rookie.

Pay more attention to the players showing growth and flashes and don’t even worry about the record or the standings right now.

If we aren’t going to be in a position to win a championship these regular season records are completely irrelevant anyway.

The Pistons will be just fine, just let our talent develop and don’t forget to give props to our players and organization when we do actually start winning.

I dont care about standings this year. But I do care about our lord&saviour shooting 40%fg / sub 30% 3pt with 5 TO’s a game.

Cade gets double teamed on basically every single play because every team in the league knows how dangerous he can be with some space.

I think it’s part of the reason that Monty puts Killian out there with him - to provide a secondary playmaker for when the defense collapses onto Cade.

I do think it should be Ivey instead but I’d say, given Killian was denied an extension, that this is the Pistons way of saying “shape up or ship out”.

When Morris is back, I can see Killian dropping to the extended bench and used sporadically at best.

Sure, it’s not optimal. The team is young and they suck. But if Cade was even 80% what he was supposed to be, he would at least drag us to some wins. I mean all the other young stars seem to do it on shitty teams. Us being the worst team in the league is not all on Cade of course, but some of it is.

I mean what is he doing well this year? Hes passing is good. FT% is good. Anything else? League #1 turnovers, terrible shooting splits + he gets cooked by just about any decent/good guard out there. I mean Murray spanked him for the whole game on both ends and he was the reason Hawks won and we lost.

At what point are we going to actually accomplish something? This franchise is dogshit and we haven’t won a single playoff game since 2008. This is year 4 of the weaver rebuild and we are no closer than we were 4 years ago to being a competitor. This sub acts like this team is so young, all this talent, we got monty, blah blah blah. You people act like we’re fine wait until blank then we will win, well I’ve been hearing people say that for far too long and I thought this year was the last for progression. I was wrong. Even 100% healthy this team is still going to struggle to win 20 games and our clueless gm will do nothing to help it

We should’ve known something was up when we played with our starters at Rico Hines and were still getting clapped up by rag tag teams of bench players from different squads

They just have zero cohesion on the floor. It isn’t as simple as just waiting for it to work itself out, it’s been 12 games and there’s not even an indication we’re close to being able to win more than once every ten games. (If we’re lucky). I don’t care if we’re rebuilding, we have had several years of this “rebuild” already pass and we look fucking worse than we did halfway through it.

Dude you are straight up delusional if you think we will be contending for a play in spot
