I just bought a Tesla universal (hope I’m not going to regret that) and I’m installing a 40A breaker / #8 TECK-90 to hardwire it (I’m getting a good deal on the work, but the electrician is lazy and is taking too long to do it).

I don’t have a car yet, but I figured it’s better not to put the cart before the horse. There’s a damned good chance the only cars available will be TESLAs anyway, everything else is sold out /pre sold.

Not much more than that…just a baby step towards the future.

PS: I’m the lazy electrician.

I too have a smaller breaker, because my detached garage only has a 50 amp feed.

People have different circumstances and overnight charging works fine at lower charge rates.
